4 February will see the
celebration of Feast Day with the local tradition of the
hurling of the silver ball.
March
Following the restoration project, The Leach
Pottery (www.theleachpotterystives.co.uk)
is due to re-open to visitors during March 2008
April
On 26 April, Trevithick Day
will be celebrated in Camborne and will reflect local steam and mining history and
heritage
May
5 May will see traditional May Day celebrations in
St Ives.
On 8 May Helston will
celebrate the annual Flora Day. The festival features the
Early Morning Dance, Hal-an-Tow, the Children's Dance, the Ancient Furry
Dance and Evening Dance.
From 24 – 26 May the St Ives Music in
May (www.stivesmusicinmay.co.uk) concert series
will take place in St Ia's Church (St Ives Parish Church). The Sacconi Quartet
performances will include works by Haydn, Vaughan
Williams and Brahms and their guests include Gary Matthewman (Piano),
Timothy Boulton (Viola) and Thomas Watmough (Clarinet).
24 May will also see a fund raising event for
The St Ives Lifeboat, Rock The Boat St Ives, which will be held at
the St Ives Guildhall and will feature Tracey Story, The Landing
Party and Ercus 4. See

On 26 May The Bohemians will be at the St
Ives Guildhall with their show "Queen Greatest Hits Live". Tickets
are available in advance from the Tourist Information Centre at the
Guildhall or on the door. The event will raise funds for the St Ives
Festival and Archive Study Centre.
June
Every Sunday the St Ives Concert Band (www.sicb.co.uk)
perform on the West Pier (by the Lifeboat Station) from 6:00 pm, subject
to weather conditions.
From 5-7 June the Royal Cornwall Show
(www.royalcornwallshow.org)
will include three days of show jumping,
best of breed, music, dancing, trade stands, display teams, hot air
balloons, ferret racing, forestry demonstrations, steam engines, beer
tents, food of every description and much much more.
The
Godrevy Midsummer Swellboard Classic will take place at Gwithian,
Near Hayle.
July

is usually held during the month of August.
On 30 August the No. 1 70's Show (www.thenumberoneshow.co.uk)
will be live at the Guildhall. The concert is being arranged by the
local Rotary club and ticket details will follow.
September

6-20 September sees
the annual St Ives September
Festival (
www.stivesseptemberfestival.co.uk) Once again, over a two week
period, it will feature a wide and diverse range of events and
activities covering all aspects of art and music. There will be talks,
films, poetry, jazz, classical, rock and folk music.
